Traditional Korean folk song; arranged by Ben Patterson
This ancient tune is perfected simplicity, and will be familiar to many audiences. The jazz ballad setting of the tune lends itself well to Patterson's reharmonization. Flugelhorn melodies interspersed with clever pentatonics from the flutes and saxes give way to solos for piano and trombone. This chart really takes its time to build to it's climax and taper to a solo piano ending. Warning, this will get stuck in your head!
