Bob Thurston


Bob Thurston has been writing professionally for over 35 years. While
serving with The United States Air Force Band in Washington DC for 20 years,
Bob wrote for the Air Force Concert Band, the Singing Sergeants, the Air
Force Strings, the Ceremonial Brass, numerous chamber groups-and of course
the Airmen of Note. 

Bob's arranging credits include Yo Yo Ma, Ben Vereen, Kirk Whalum, Butch
Miles, Jake Shimabukuro, Spyro Gyra, Kool & the Gang, Restless Heart,
Lonestar, Wynonna, Rita Coolidge, the Ventures, Chaka Khan, The Miracles and
Melinda Doolittle. 

Bob earned degrees in music education from Florida State University. Before
enlisting in the Air Force, he was a high-school band director. He also
worked for his hometown newspaper, the Tallahassee Democrat, as a writer and
copy editor.
