Just Improbable

Composed and Arranged by Paul White

"I first came up with the melodic ideas for this chart in 2010 while warming up for a concert in South Carolina. These ideas focused on moving simple bits of information, like triads, around with complex harmonic ideas, initially to increase my facility on the saxophone. After spending time expanding the idea through a practice regimen, they developed into larger, more in-depth, concepts that would prove more interesting to manipulate on a larger scale. The title was taken from a line in the book, “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” and is a nod to my objective view of one’s place in reality in that some things are not impossible, just improbable." - Paul White

[Instrumentation: 5 saxes, 8 brass, 4 rhythm]
