Excalibur

Composed and Arranged by Steve Wiest

Right from the start, you know you’re in for a colorful tapestry from the master weaver himself. The mysterious opening bass line gives way to freely played drums with cascading horns layered over the top. The tune sports great blowing changes and cycling grooves. This chart would make a great change of pace for your set and is sure to add new colors. Solos are for trombone, soprano sax and drums. This makes a great feature for a guest trombonist, but would also work well with standard instrumentation. [Instrumentation: 5 saxes (alto, soprano, 2 tenors, and bari) 8 brass, 4 rhythm, solo trombone]
