The Happy Dance

Composed and arranged by Ben Patterson

Everybody knows the happy dance. Kids do it when they get ice cream. Adults do it when their team wins. This happy little 2nd-line chart from the Ben Patterson Jazz Orchestra is a fun way to celebrate, with lots of solo opportunities for soprano sax, bass, trumpet, and whomever else you like. The changes are simple and fun to blow, and the groove makes for a nice change of pace. There is plenty of melodic development and a chance for your lead trumpet player to strut. [inst: 5 saxes (alto 1 on soprano), 8 brass, 4 rhythm}
